Student Programs

Society of Students of Architecture (SSA) and National Association of Student Architects (NASA).

The society of students of architecture (SSA) consists of three members - a general secretary, under secretary and a treasurer, supervised by a faculty member. Student representatives to SSA will be elected from the school as prescribed by National Association of Student Architects (NASA). Various activities of zonaV national conventions of NASA and other design trophy preparedness will be carried out through SSA.

Student Mentorship program

Architecture mentorship program envisions fostering interaction among students of different years. The Student Mentors from the senior batches will be interacting with junior students in various areas of architecture and allied disciplines through critiques and advices. The mentors shall be selected by the School.

"Chai pe Charcha"

"The Chai pe charcha" is an interactive platform for students to have debates and casual discussions among themselves, with the faculty members, visiting faculty members, architects and other creative professionals. The Charcha will happen once in a week as part of SSA activity. Tea and snacks will be provided by the SSA.

"Sayahnna Charcha"

An informal extension of regular class work in architecture and related subjects will be held from 4.30 pm - 6.00 pm as and when required. Students may make use of this opportunity to clarify doubts and avail further guidance from faculty members.

NGO meetings

Meetings with the NGOs and other professional bodies through SSA are also part of the academic exercises. Students are advised to be in contact with any of such NGOs and professional bodies, helping in architectural studies and services.

Movie Show

Weekly movie shows regarding architecture and built environment will also be conducted as part of the SSA activity.

Interaction with other Schools

SSA will also establish contact with other schools in the field of Architecture and allied disciplines. This endeavor is to promote inter school academic interaction.

"Meeting with Architects"

Visits to architect's offices of the IIA Kottayam Centre and to their construction sites will be organized once in a while. This activity will also be through SSA.

Column in "Mangalam Daily"

A column in the "Mangalam Daily" will be provided for students of MASAP to get an exposure in the fields of Architectural journalism. The concerned faculty member will guide the students in different aspects of the built environment and architectural realms of the surrounding. A proactive group of architects from the School is being envisioned here.

"Hello Kottayam" Architectural and Environmental Issue Discussion Forum with FM radio

Different queries and debates in the fields of architecture and planning are being carried out with the help of the local FM radio stations within the city. A radio community is responsible for these programs.
